1922-23

Sofia (Bernard) Dolan  and her daughter Elizabeth "Lizzy" (Dolan) Bell.

This is my Great-Grandma Dolan on the left.  Her name is Sophia (which also happens to be Aunt Peggy's middle name). She married William Robinson after the death of her first husband, our great-grandfather, James Dolan. She's the mother of Charles Dolan (our grandfather) and the grandmother of Vivian, Peggy and the rest of the clan. The lady with her is her daughter Lizzie Dolan Bell, Grandpa Charles Dolan's only sister. The family story handed down is that James Dolan was Irish Catholic and came from Cork, Ireland. When he married Sophia Bernard, a Baptist, he was disowned by his family.
